Welcome to my catalogue of acrylic artwork!
ABOUT MY ACRLIC JOURNEY...
Whilst I love the softness and transparency of watercolours, my progression to painting with acrylics was borne out of the sense of feeling hamstrung when it came to creating larger pieces. I wanted to experiment with the possibility of creating large unique statement decor artworks - initially for my own home. I did try oils, but I simply fell in love with acrylics. Also a water based media, they have similar properties to watercolour, in that they are fast drying (I am so impatient!) and offer a translucency and layered depth that is achievable through the use of mediums. But I can add texture in my work, a quality that I adore but cannot achieve with watercolour.)
The real gotcha though, were those delicious organic drips I can create, that now feature in so many of my pieces!
You'll find, listed for each work, that I've included a small blurb regarding the inspiration behind the piece, its size, and whether the original is still available.
By the way... I would like to highlight that I have made the investment to professionally capture the vast majority of my acrylic work by Art House Reproductions, Brisbane, Australia. This enables me to offer incredibly precise Fine Art Reproductions of my work. I offer them as limited edition reproductions, with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
Whilst you are welcome to order your Giclee through the team at Art House Reproductions, it naturally goes without saying that by ordering through me, the artist, you optimise the remuneration I receive.
If this solution is of interest but you have questions, please refer to the tab 'Fine Art Reproductions' on the navigations bar to learn more.

Fabric of Life: Triptych in Situ
The complexities of life.
Each of the works in the Fabric of Life Series capture a 'mood', as each focuses on individual elements, represented through colour, composition, and the exposure/conversely, the concealment, of layers.
United, the triptych is a small assemblage of the mess that is life, in a visually compelling and appealing story.
The triptych comprises of 'Pink'; 'Sunny Days'; and 'Blue: on the Mend'.
Pink: a multi-layered, complex, interconnected experience. There are times of darkness, times of clarity; sometimes messy, sometimes organised, even compartmentalised; there are moments of introspection, moments of boldness; coherence - or disconnection; and ... yes, it's complicated.
Sunny Days: a cheery, colourful, patterned abstract that evokes a sense of spring, breaking into summer… There’s warmth: bright sunshine, green fields, blue skies, shots of brights: possibly an aerial perspective of paddocks, brimming with health, dissected by rivers and streams. All it all a glass half full experience.
Blue: on the Mend: a patchwork of 'threads', open weave, that reveal time worn scars; it tells the story of where we've been, where we are, and perhaps where we're going ... ? The blue taps into the soul, giving solace and a sense of calm - a sense that all will be well.
No matter what you ‘see’, there’s lived experience in these multidimensional webs, that are - the fabric of life.

Gilded Grove: framed Triptych
A statement semi abstract work of art for nature lovers: in honour of the orange.
Once exotic, the orange is considered symbolic of wealth, prosperity and good fortune.
‘Gilded Grove’, a luscious, luxuriously juicy, and elegantly framed triptych, elevates the staple ‘half-time refreshment’ to celebrate oranges, in all their sweet glory.

Una Passeggiata Sabato Sera [A Saturday Evening Stroll]
La passeggiata, a beautiful Italian ritual that is close to my heart, celebrates ‘la dolce vita’. After the evening meal, the young, old, and everyone in between, stroll the streets - not simply to digest, but to socialise, to flirt, to people watch… to enjoy an aperitivo or a gelato...
Having held my elderly uncle’s arm as we strolled the main street of Cortina last year, I wanted to articulate the romance behind this tradition. A conscious decision was to compositionally achieve a sense of procession and storytelling.

La Vie en Rose
An intuitive work, 'La Vie en Rose' depicts a moment in my mind where autumnal colours came alive. Loose brush strokes evoked a sense of movement; and so swaying grasses evolved to become pastureland. Punctuated by white withered tree trunks, remnants of what was once thriving bushland, these gums channel the composition, leading the eye through the field of grasses to the autumnal warmth on the nearby hillside.
Do you feel the stiff autumn breeze?

A Breath of Fresh Air
What I love about Brisbane is its liveability. I’m fortunate to have Mt Coot-tha Forest Park (virtually) on my doorstep. I frequent it often. It is, as per the title of this work, a breath of fresh air.
I could never tire of it; ever changing with the seasons, with its myriad of tracks. Native bushland in the heart of the city, free to access - Brisbane’s forest reserves are truly an escape from the rat race. It provides solace, a base to re-set, and – for an artist - endless inspiration.
One morning last September, a light mist, towering tress and back lighting, thanks to the rising sun, inspired this work. 'A Breath of Fresh Air' truly captures this magical moment.

Magnolias in Magnificence
Unapologetically large and dreamy, the work 'Magnolias in Magnificence' makes quite the statement. I wanted to create a work that transports you to a place of loveliness, soft and alluring. The work celebrates what is said to be the first known flowering plant, the magnolia. With its delicate blossoms, that dance upon striking bare branches like flames, and their architectural branches, budded and loaded with promise - it is truly magnificent and worthy of celebration.

My love affair for florals continues, this time I find myself in a lovingly tended garden where free spirit is embraced. A Wild Summer
The piece ‘A Wild Summer’: a vibrant array of gorgeous blooms… roses, carnations, gerberas, snapdragons, dahlias and babies’ breath…. was inspired by my friend’s amazing wedding arrangement. The wildly bright and joyous arrangement appealed to my artistic eye; the saying “I just had to paint it” comes to mind! I wanted to capture that joyous, vivid, spirted, energetic vibe that I saw in that wedding arrangement - a celebration of love, full of excitement and happiness.
Interpreting the arrangement in my unique style, the result is this sumptuous perfusion of colour, a showering of colourful blooms across a bright canvas.

In The Pink! (Pink Peonies)
Sometimes I just have to paint bold, colourful, loud... and for this one, it all started with PINK!
I'm in love with Peonies -the beautiful, giant blooms and buds, so perfectly round.
I'm in love with painting free, semi abstract florals, showcasing nature in all its glory.
I'm in love with one of my all-time fav colour combos: pink and green.
(With a touch of blue.. and purple... and white!)
So what's the outcome?
A unique, statement, large artwork that will make your heart sing with good health and spirits... aptly titled: IN THE PINK!

Inspired to express the delicate beauty of our wild places, and visually describe its fragility and how the wild world could simply fade away ....my work 'Protect the Wild Places 2' emerged from deep within. As an intuitive artist , I find at times, agendas come to the fore.
In trying to put my thoughts about this piece into words, I came across
Aldo Leopold and his view on human existence. He was ahead of his time- he believed in a Land Ethic, where humans are but citizens of a land community. He advocated for humans to live in harmony with the land; in harmony with nature.
In his almanac, published a year after his death in 1948, he wrote:
“A land ethic changes the role of Homo sapiens from conqueror of the land community to plain member and citizen of it.”
He defines conservation as harmony between man and land.
I love his messages so much I’ve etched quotes onto the translucent red trees, which are symbolic of the human cost on nature, where forests and habitats are disappearing before our eyes.
"... Live in Harmony with Nature..."
"... Humans are but Citizens..."
"... Land is a Community ... to which we Belong..."
There are two versions of this piece, both available as limited edition reproductions: both speak of the same powerful message; but PTWP2 steps away from the delicate subdued original version with bold colour and contrast. The Original of PTWP2 is available.

Dreaming of Giverny [After Monet]
Borne of a longing to visit the famous playground of Monet, ‘Dreaming of Giverny' (After Monet) oozes an atmosphere befitting of the legend. The work evolved from abstraction, where colour and movement suggested I feature the distinguishable bridge of Giverny, in a watery palette that echoes that of the great Impressionist. Responding intuitively to the developing work, I included blooms, some disproportionately gigantic, that I envisage would fill the garden, and naturally, of course, some of those famous waterlilies.
A colourful flight of fancy, fresh and fantastic: this is my visual impression after Monet.

Ramblin' Rose (Triptych - framed)
"Ramblin' Rose" triptych is larger than life, depicting a heavily laden trellis with delicate cascading pastel roses on a timeless classic #blueandwhite backdrop.
The "Ramblin' Rose" triptych is the product of Cox intuitively working in her trademark semi-abstract floral style. Upon a bed of navy, softened with a veil-like glaze, Cox uses a beautifully soft and romantic pastel palette to overlay an abundance of roses, from delicately translucent to heavy bodied and textured. Modern elegance with a romantic touch, this triptych would be at home in living areas and bedrooms alike, bringing a touch of the great outdoors in.
This set is painted on canvas with professional artist's quality paint, and finished with a light varnish for protection. Each work in the triptych is individually shadow-mounted in an off white frame.

Coastal Candles - Banksia Integrifolia V2
Australian natives provide me with endless inspiration.
Their colour and texture, delicately yet robustly prevail and thrive against the odds, and bring beauty where you least expect it!
These 'Coastal Banksias' flourish in the windswept sea-sprayed coastlines right up to the mountains. Their blooms are like nothing else I've seen; their seed pods are equally unique and beautiful.
To express the coarseness of the environment alongside that of tree, leaves and blooms themselves, the base layer of this work has a heavily textured, course finish. This provided me with a lovely surface to depict the texture of this tree's trunk, leaves, blooms and seed pods with loose expressive brushstrokes. The artwork is not precisely botanical, rather more articulated in an energetic and interpretive sense. My goal was to successfully incorporate the nature of Coastal Banksias in more than a visual sense; also as a tactile metaphor for their strength and hardiness.

Spring Colours Out Back of Kata Tjuta
It is no secret that I find our landscapes inspirational. The colours, the rugged beauty of nature in our part of the world are strikingly unique.
Having been to our outback before, I was expecting those stunning blue blue skies - red red earth vistas when traveling to Uluru and Kata Tjuta in August last year. But what I was not expecting was the stunning spring show of colour that was on display. New to me were the many shades of green, and many native blossoms, colourfully delicate yet oh so robust, uniquely adapted to the harsh climate they thrived in.
When creating this piece, I intuitively found myself channelling the colours of this landscape in spring. The red red rocks. The skies that go forever. The bright yellow of the flowering mulga trees. The blue-grey of saltbush, white trunks of the gums, the straw yellow of the spinifex... All vibrant, spring in the outback is a feast for the eyes.
Nature puts on one hell of a show - and if you can't make it there yourself, then here it is, for you to savour. Spring Colours of the Outback - Kata Tjuta.

Lennox: Sunset over Lake Ainsworth
Whilst I typically work intuitively, this work was inspired by my very first visit to Lennox Heads, NSW.
I had no idea how beautiful this sleepy (undiscovered by me!) little piece of paradise was...
The fresh water tannin lake of Lake Ainsworth, encircled by twisted tea trees, is just over the dunes from the beach.
So I happened across this magical moment at sunset, as the trees on the other side of the lake were back lit, and the foreground trees cast beautiful radiating shadows that perfectly framed the setting sun. It moment begged to be painted...

When you think you've seen it all!
Have you ever been to Horsehoe Bay, Bowen? I have... It's a gorgeous cove, with clear turquoise waters edged with massive granite boulders. Every Boxing Day of my childhood, a large entourage of friends would make their way there from the Burdekin, an hour's drive, to celebrate with a picnic. It was the perfect summer setting for beautiful memories.
Fast forward to my most recent visit. I was excited to see that this spot is still a slice of paradise...
But you can imagine my surprise, when, as a mature adult, boulder hopping around the point, reliving those blissful innocent childhood memories, I discover this little nudist beach...?
And only metres from my sheltered childhood memories!
Well, it was enough to inspire this painting!

Love in the Mist
Are you a hopeless romantic?
Do you long to spend time with your one and only at a cosy cottage in the misty mountains, as the log fire burns?
Do you long to sit on the veranda with a shared rug on your laps, holding a warm cuppa, as you enjoy the quietness of the view of the soft delicate blooms in the cottage garden?
I must confess, I am very much a 'happily ever after' kinda gal.
I was inspired to create a piece that oozed that feeling of cosiness, of safety, of contentment, of quietness, that comes from that security of being loved.
There is nothing more beautiful!

Brookfield Local - playful platypus at dusk
Have you ever had the pleasure of spotting a platypus? These uniquely Australian secretive little mammals love the quiet stillness of dusk or dawn, when they venture out and go about their busy little days.
It's only through patience and obligatory yet calming silence do they allow you to into their world. And when you do spot them: well, it's mesmerizing.
This work was inspired by a friend of mine who is blessed to have them virtually in her 'backyard', merely meters from her front door at Brookfield. She is passionate about protecting these endangered creatures: platypus deserve our care and attention to protect them. She suggests we all try to do our bit: by limiting pollution of our waterways, outlawing 'opera house' fishing nets, keeping dogs on leash near waterways especially at dusk and dawn, and taking part in an annual platypus survey.
This work "Brookfield Local: Playful Platypus @ Dusk" celebrates these endangered creatures, and I hope will raise awareness of their need for protection.

Take a Moment
Drawn from intuition, this piece is symbolic of what I hope viewers to embrace when they experience art. When creating, I enter a space of calm.. of deep concentration... a stillness. This moment is delightful; I crave it, it's why I paint.
When deciding on a title, I wanted viewers to embrace that space of calm and stillness - if not through creating, then through viewing. It's important for all of us to take a moment, to view the 'mundane', to notice the detail.
The wheat fields as they sway in the morning breeze.
The sunlight glistening on the seed heads, and shining the early morning glow over the trees...

And A Land Cries Out
Where's my little family gone?
I always have music playing when I paint: one of my favourite artists is country singer Sara Storer. Her song "And a Land Cries Out - Where's My Little Family Gone" is about the constant heart wrenching battle between making a living, protecting and raising your family on a land you love. Inspired by the lyrics of her song, this piece touches on how this world and all in it are transient. I am connected with the land, as a farmer’s daughter. My immigrant parents taught me the value of recycling, reusing, of being 'green'; long before these were a thing.
They taught me lessons of living responsibly, modestly. I believe we are caretakers of this beautiful land and all its creatures.
This piece urges us to live respectfully, avoid waste and the seduction of consumerism... to walk softly in this world.
Where's my little family gone?

Queen of the Climbers [Sold]
Clematis - they sure are the Queen of the Climbers
After living in Melbourne for three years, my limited gardening plant repertoire was blown out of the ... garden?! In Melbourne, I was introduced to 4 seasons with English-like gardens and plant varieties that I'd never seen before in my time in tropical Queensland.
One of the plants I discovered was clematis. These are beautiful elegant climbers that burst into colourful rampant bloom, with a lovely scent to boot. They truly deserve the nickname "The Queen of Climbers."
With this artwork, I wanted to transport you to a corner of a English cottage garden, where clematis reaches up to the warm blue skies. The lattice doorway, smothered in sweet clematis leads you through, enticing you to imagine what other discoveries await beyond the doorway...

Casa di Callas [SOLD]
Forever home in Cairns
Memorable elegance in nature and art,
This piece began as a commission. The customer, I know well. She is Italian, like my mother. She's now an Australian, and with her hubby and young family, she is embracing all there is about Australia.
But the memories of who she is, where she is from, linger.
And I know that Callas are pretty much a weed where she comes from. They grow in the creeks, making a statement by demanding attention with their slender tall elegance. For her, (and for my mum), they symbolise a purity, an innocence, of childhood memories, of family, of all that is familiar: and that indisputable Italian style!
The original has been warmly welcomed into her home: but 100 limited edition reproductions are still on offer, if you too want to celebrate these beauties in style!

Aussie Tenacity was inspired by my awe at nature. Have you ever wondered how on earth some plants came to be? When you think about it, how is it that a plant could take seed, grow…and despite the odds, thrive? Now that is tenacity.
Extrapolate that to human nature: to the Aussie nature…
We are renowned for picking ourselves up time and time again, challenge after challenge. Tenacity is our secret weapon, that gives us the edge. This is my nod to Aussie Tenacity.

Moon Rise
'Moonrise' is another of my intuitive bushland scenes, full to the brim with nature's colours - as I see them. This place is somewhere in my subconscious... and now also on this canvas.
The crisp bright greens against the pink skies and rocky granite hillside;
the rainbow of gumtree trunks writhing;
the shimmering foliage of ancient grass trees, contorting as they grow, ever so slowly...
These are colours that sing in harmony.
Moon Rise captures a special light pervades the bushland at dusk: a light that harmonises the pastel tones of skies and trees and rocky outcrops. It is a time of quiet contemplation, of awe. Of calm.

Tranquility Bay
Have you been to Tranquility Bay?
Before you google it... I have to fess up. I found this bay by chance.
It's a place that is away from the crowds, a hidden gem.
It's a beautiful spot, where the bush comes down to the beach... where the water laps calmly on the sandy shore. The turquoise, cool waters are warmed by the early sun rays - I've visited this place; I've camped here; I've held a warm cuppa to warm me.
Tranquillity Bay
It's a place in my soul.

Lost in Blue
Now this is how you bring that brings that chill vibe indoors!
One of my favourite ways to chill is to lie on the lawn and look skywards … the blues and fluffy white clouds, always shifting, changing patterns, shapes … it makes me want to sigh, a deep refreshing breath…❤️
So when this under painting started to take on that vibe, my plans went out the window… and a sky was born!
Here’s to chilling on the lawn - inside x
And just for a bit of fun... turn it upsidedown and you'll see LOST IN BLUE: HEAVENS ABOVE!!
I love it when an artwork has options! (that is works in different perspectives!)

God's Country
Intuitive interpretation of ancient landscapes .
I am in awe of high country: be it in Australia, in Europe, in North America (the only continents I've been blessed to visit.) I'm in awe of the geology, the force of nature that created rugged mountain ranges, where we as humans are belittled. And how often do I see a cross, mounted high for all to revere? Is it a symbol that we are close to God: or that we are blessed to step foot on this turf? All in all, religious or not, the majesty is undeniable.

Calmness of the Mind is One of Beautiful Jewels of the Mind
Do you need a little tranquillity in your life?
Intuitive painting is liberating... and oh, so interesting! It is interesting to see what thoughts flow through my subconscious and evolve on the canvas. I can not take credit for the title: it was a suggestion, a quote from the book "As a Man Thinketh" published in 1902 by James Allen. These words are powerful, thought-provoking:
'Calmness of the Mind is One of the Beautiful Jewels of the Mind.'
I feel is is the perfect summation of the piece. There is calmness and serenity in this piece: the colours, the motifs... There is much to be interpreted; but this is highly personal.
So I shall leave the musing to you.

[Teach Them To] Tread Softly
There's a lesson in there....
With my art, I never really know where each piece will take me. With no preconceived ideas, my only an urge is to put colour on canvas.
As this piece evolved, I felt inspired to deliver a message.... Perhaps I was driven by the urge to protect our world after walking in our local bushland when we had just had some lovely drenching rain...
I want to remind everyone that we all have a responsibility to care for our planet: and as with any lesson, that we need to impart this wisdom to our children.
It’s about embracing the simple life.
Treasuring our patch.
Tread softly.

Sunshine and Lollypops
There's no rainbows here, but this artwork is poppy and cheery, just like the song (if you can remember it?!)
I love my garden, I love depicting blooms in my art... and who doesn't love hydrangeas?
With this work I wanted to capture how these blooms age beautifully into rusts and golds.. arguably as good as the fresh blooms perhaps?! The artwork take on a stylised feel, as I layered texture on the blooms, in contrast with the translucency of the leaves.
I hope you find yourself singing "Sunshine, rainbows and lollypops" every time you see this work - or at least humming ... and smiling!

Bliss
A bouquet for the star in your world!
I love creating cascading, bountiful bouquets of blossoms... textured and colourful. Flowers are truly a thing of beauty.
But so is our universe.
These roses cascade as if from the cosmos, as if they are tumbling through the Milky Way. I wanted to highlight the beauty of our natural world - and emphasize that nature's beauty is not constrained to what is 'in' our world: but also what is 'out of this world'!
For all the (amateur or professional) astronomers out there.
Absolute 'Bliss!'

Billabong
If Monet had lived in Australia, would he have painted water lilies on a billabong? Imagine if he did paint a billabong… the gorgeous white paperbarks make a stunning backdrop for a painting!
I have always loved the enchanting purple blooms of water lilies, with dragonflies daintily flitting from one bloom to another… long before I’d even heard of Monet. I was fortunate to have a billabong (or lagoon) on the farm I grew up on. After my recent travels up the Queensland coast, these memories were revived and I was inspired to create my own ‘Monet’.

Burst of Summer Scent
"Burst of Summer Scent" began with a thought: I wanted to visually portray the intoxicating scent of summer blooms. The composition is suggestive of the scent exploding towards you; the gold substrate burning off to turquoise and baby blues implies the intensity and richness of summer heat. And the show stoppers are those blooms: glistening whites, soft, hot pinks, pale lemon: all gorgeously vibrant, before the summer heat burns them off to romantic golden browns.
It's the bouquet that will last forever!

Time Stands Still
Intuitive interpretation of Australia's ancient landscapes.
This intuitive creation began in the spontaneous laying down of colour, where my destination became increasingly apparent as I progressed: the ancient landscapes of inland Australia. I have been fortunate to visit the Northern Territory twice, and although brief, the experience has been incredibly inspirational. I have been blown away by the ancient landscapes of rock mountains, scarred valleys, boulders and writhing ancient trees that survive despite the odds. My semi-abstract interpretation is intuitive: not representative of one particular place, but encompassing all that I have been fortunate to visit.

After the Rain [Reservoir Track, Mt Coot-tha Forest] - SOLD
I love bush walking, but I especially love walking in the bush after the rain. There is something special in the air. It's cool; fresh and clean.
There's a smell of rain - 'petrichor' (yes it has a name!) - you know that smell.
And the colours - the foliage, the tree trunks ... they are so vibrant.
This piece is dedicated to that magic, inspired by a walk in my local bushland on Resevoir Track, in the Mt Coot-tha Forest (Brisbane.)
If you haven't been, you must; and if you're really lucky, it might have just rained!

Escape [Sold]
Watercolours are my first love. Albeit wildly delightfully unpredictable (i.e. fun!?), they are also steeped in tradition conformity. This doesn’t sit well with me – I love pushing the boundaries.
With 'Escape', I wanted to use watercolours, but not framed paper under glass. I wanted a fresh natural piece that captured a coastal vibe.
And so I chose to prep ply as the substrate, then splashed about… and 'escaped' to create an artwork with a sun bleached, whitewashed look. I'm so happy with the outcome: the ply timber gives this a lovely texture easily discernible through the translucency of the watercolour. It hangs on the wall like a piece of driftwood would, and finished with a natural soft buffed wax.
This piece is an impetuous and free depiction of crystal clear turquoise waters, created from the mental vision I have of the many beautiful beaches I have visited. Every time I see it this artwork, I escape to a place of beauty and tranquillity: where the only sound is the waves gently washing into the shore.
Can you hear the calm?

Coastal Candles - Banksia Integrifolia (Original not available)

I See Your Glow [SOLD]
Sunflowers - these striking giant boppy blooms light up a vase, a room, a field! The joy these flowers bring is unmistakeable... and contagious! All those smiley little suns grinning away at you, bright and warm and yellow.
It's undeniable: you can't help but smile when you see them..
I grew up with fields of these around me in the 'off' season - miles and miles of golden green that touched the bluest of skies and puffiest of clouds.
Truly stuff dreams are made of. It is so it is lovely to have finally painted a cheery tribute to them and my memories!
Did you know:
In Italian, sunflowers are called 'girasole', which translates to 'turn to the sun' - as they literally follow the sun, from dawn to dusk!

SOLD: Break of Dawn
Re-worked from the original 'Break of Dawn’, this piece began it's life as an abstract. Heavily influenced by the emotional impact of changes brought about by Covid 19, it evolved to become a figurative statement on our society. The title remained appropriate: Covid 19 brought about a new dawn for our race. There has been so many changes - I raise the question: for worse or for better?
Personally I treasure the lessons of togetherness - whilst paradoxically - separated from our work/social lives, we have been thrown together as a family unit. This has its blessings: a chance to catch your breath, following on from what was for many of us, chaotic lives.
Did we embrace the simple life? Did we rise to the challenge of re-evaluating of our relationships with others? Was the upheaval too much?
Covid 19 has been undeniably unprecedented. But has it been all bad? Like the natural earth, we have had the opportunity to re-set, re-evaluate, re-direct our future.

SOLD: Nature's Stage - Backlit
How magnificent it is when the glow of the setting sun lights up the landscape!
As with most of my pieces, 'Natures Stage - Backlit' began with nothing - bar the thrill of creating: I had no plans, no preconceived ideas, no subject material. I applied acrylic colour washes, and watched eagerly as the layers evolved. I am always curious to see where a piece is taking me.
I love this process, I find it freeing, therapeutic, calming. The clouds were the first 'fixture' of this painting, glowing yet dark and moody... What has taken shape in the final painting is truly original. What I love more is that it is truly an extension of my imagination, with a magical whimsical vibe in one of my favourite colour palettes.

What Lay Beneath
On the surface, an elegant colour palette combined with confident line marking create an abstract artwork with poise. Yet for me, "What Lay Beneath" metaphorically captures a raw honesty, exposed when one bares their soul. Glimmers of gold, the rich buried beauty deep within each of us, is tempered daily by dark times, with despair… How often do we mask this darkness with the face we wear each day - a wash of creams and pinks? I hope with courage and confidence, we lower our defences and allow our souls to shine.

SOLD: Sanctuary
Dramatic and moody, Sanctuary depicts a private place of solace and hope... a place to loose yourself, a place to find yourself.
Echoing a theme of courage, hope and peace, my mind’s eye took me to a deep valley, of untamed beauty, dark and calm; where trees cling boldly to a steep valley and nature provides tranquil respite. When a friend suggested ‘Sanctuary’ as the title for my artwork, it dawned on me that this is precisely how I feel about the work, about this place, deep in my heart.
In creating this artwork, I have explored the versatility of the acrylic medium. To create this dramatic effect, I painted layers upon layers of translucent colour over a gold underpainting: the result is a piece that glows, which changes mood depending on the angle you view it.

Sweetest of Peas (SOLD)
Be entranced by the heady sweetness of "Sweetness of Peas"
Cox's popular signature layering of translucent colour and loose semi-abstract style is embodied within this piece. Her "Sweetest of Peas" beautifully captures the profusion of riotous colour of these St Paddy's Day specials. Loose and fluid, these sweet peas almost drip off the canvas - so real that you can almost smell them! Sure to brighten your day, every day!

Do it with Passion (SOLD)
Passion runs deep when it comes to a great cause.
As with many of Cox's semi-abstract floral, "Do It with Passion" was the product of her inner spirit, fired with the passion to create an original artwork for the wonderful cause - Art for Epilepsy. The title reflects her passion for the cause, not only driving her in its creation, but also to beckon supporters to step up to such a vital cause.
Art for Epilepsy's specification to use purple reinforced Cox's conviction to create. The beauty of 'purple’, as Cox sees it, is that it’s varying tones can range in mood from calm and soothing to dramatic and tempestuous. Cox successfully uses this contrast of mood to skillfully create this semi-abstract floral piece, applying and lifting layers of translucent acrylic colours

Figured Grain (1,2,3 & 4)
I am drawn to nature’s abstracts. With this series, I took the lead from the substrate: the ply cradle board. I love how each piece of timber is unique. To create these ‘abstracts’, I first ‘blue’ washed the ply panel, then highlighted the patterned or ‘figured’ grain, enhancing it to add a depth and subtle texture.
I find I loose myself in the patterns, and feel they are mesmerizingly calming.
